Warranty Policy
This Warranty Policy sets out the warranty terms offered by Vision Lighting Limited (“Vision Lighting”, “we”, “us”, “our”) for products supplied by us.
1. General Warranty Statement
Vision Lighting warrants that all Vision Lighting and TradeLED branded products supplied by us shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of invoice, unless a different warranty period is expressly stated on the relevant product data sheet or written quotation.
Where a product data sheet specifies a longer or shorter warranty period, that stated period shall take precedence over the default two-year warranty.
Products supplied by Vision Lighting that are manufactured by third-party brands are covered solely by the respective manufacturer’s warranty terms and duration. Vision Lighting does not extend or modify any third-party manufacturer warranty.
2. Scope of Warranty
This warranty is strictly limited to defects arising from faulty materials or workmanship under normal and intended use.
The warranty applies only where:
- Products have been installed and operated in accordance with the product data sheet, installation instructions, and relevant UK regulations and industry standards.
- Installation has been carried out by a competent and suitably qualified person where required.
- The product has not been altered, modified, misused, or subjected to abnormal environmental conditions.
3. What Is Covered
If a valid warranty claim is accepted, Vision Lighting will, at its sole discretion:
- Repair the defective product; or
- Replace the defective product with the same or equivalent product; or
- Issue a credit note for the original purchase value of the defective product.
The remedy provided above shall constitute the purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty.
4. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused after goods have been supplied, however arising.
- Loss, damage, or failure resulting from incorrect installation, impact damage, over-tightening of fixings, structural movement, or external forces (including wind loading where structural calculations were not obtained).
- Electrical surges, voltage fluctuations, improper power supply, or wiring that does not meet relevant standards.
- Water ingress caused by improper installation, failure to maintain IP integrity, or installation outside stated product ratings.
- Corrosion due to aggressive environmental conditions (including coastal or industrial environments unless specified).
- Cosmetic deterioration that does not affect product functionality.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Labour costs associated with removal, reinstallation, access equipment, or site attendance.
- Consequential loss, indirect loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, or damage to property.
- Damage caused to third-party property following installation.
- Products that have been modified, repainted, drilled, cut, or otherwise altered without prior written approval.
For the avoidance of doubt, Vision Lighting accepts no liability for any loss or damage howsoever caused after goods have been supplied, except where such liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
5. Limitations of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Vision Lighting’s liability shall be limited to the original invoice value of the defective goods.
- Vision Lighting shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of goodwill, installation or removal costs, or damage to signage, fascia boards, buildings, or other structures.
Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Warranty Claim Procedure
To make a claim under this warranty, the purchaser must:
- Notify Vision Lighting in writing within 14 days of discovering the defect.
- Provide: original invoice number, product code, installation date, clear photographs of the installation and defect, and a description of the fault.
- Allow Vision Lighting reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods if requested.
No product should be returned without prior written authorisation. Vision Lighting reserves the right to request return of goods for inspection before approving any claim.
7. Transferability
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable unless agreed in writing.
8. Business-to-Business Supply
Where goods are supplied in the course of business:
- The purchaser is responsible for ensuring the product is suitable for the intended application.
- Any structural calculations, wind loading assessments, or site-specific considerations remain the responsibility of the installer or contractor.
- This warranty is provided in place of all other warranties, whether express or implied, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Consumer Rights
If goods are supplied to a consumer, nothing in this warranty affects statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
