E14 Cabochon Fairground Lights
E14 Cabochon lights are a distinctive style of decorative lighting traditionally associated with fairground rides, amusement attractions and carnival signage. Today, the same style of lighting is also widely used for illuminated signs, light-up letters and numbers, event displays, retail installations and other decorative lighting projects.
Our E14 Cabochons measure approximately 60mm at their widest point, making them the larger alternative to our E10 Cabochon range. The larger size creates a prominent individual point of light, making E14 Cabochons particularly suitable for larger signs, letters, borders and displays where the lighting itself forms an important part of the design.
The distinctive faceted cabochon case disperses the light from the LED bulb to produce the familiar jewel-like, radial lighting effect associated with traditional fairground lighting.
Complete E14 Cabochon Lights or Individual Components
Whether you are building a new fairground lighting installation or replacing parts within an existing display, the components can be purchased individually or together as a complete E14 Cabochon Set.
A complete E14 Cabochon light consists of three main components:
E14 Cabochon Case – the 60mm decorative outer housing that creates the characteristic fairground lighting effect.
E14 LED Bulb – the 24V LED light source installed inside the cabochon.
E14 Lamp Holder – holds the E14 bulb and allows the fitting to be securely mounted into the sign, letter or display.
Buying the individual components is particularly useful for maintaining existing installations, as a damaged case, lamp holder or LED bulb can be replaced without purchasing the complete assembly.
Alternatively, our complete E14 Cabochon Sets provide the case, lamp holder and LED bulb together for new installations or projects requiring larger quantities of complete light fittings.

Fairground Lights for Light-Up Letters and Numbers
One of the most popular modern applications for cabochon lighting is the manufacture of large illuminated letters and numbers. Sometimes referred to as marquee letters, these displays are commonly produced for weddings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events and event hire.
Cabochons can be positioned around the face of each letter or number to create an illuminated outline. Using individual fittings also gives the designer freedom to determine the spacing and number of lights required for each character.
E14 Cabochons are particularly suited to larger letters and numbers due to their 60mm diameter and prominent appearance. For smaller designs or applications requiring closer spacing between lights, our smaller E10 Cabochon range may be more appropriate.
Fairground and Amusement Ride Lighting
Cabochon lights have a long association with traditional fairgrounds and amusement attractions, where large quantities of individual lights are used to outline shapes, emphasise architectural details and create colourful illuminated patterns.
They can be incorporated into decorative panels, ride fascias, borders and signs, or used as replacement components when maintaining an existing cabochon lighting installation.

11 E14 Cabochon Colours
The colour of the cabochon case can dramatically change the appearance of an illuminated display. Our E14 Cabochon Cases are available in 11 different colours: Clear, Opal, Red, Orange, Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Fuchsia and Pink.
Different colours can be combined within the same installation to create patterns, alternating borders or multicoloured fairground-style displays. Alternatively, a single cabochon colour can be repeated throughout a sign or set of letters for a consistent appearance.
Clear and Opal provide more neutral options where the colour of the LED light itself is intended to dominate the appearance of the fitting.
Warm White or Cool White E14 LED Bulbs
Our E14 Cabochon Sets use energy-efficient 24V LED bulbs and are available with either 3000K Warm White or 6000K Cool White LEDs.
Warm White produces a softer, warmer appearance that works particularly well when creating traditional fairground-style lighting, decorative displays and event letters.
Cool White produces a brighter, crisper white appearance and can be particularly effective for contemporary signs and displays.
Because the bulb and cabochon case are separate components, the appearance of the finished fitting is influenced by the combination of LED colour and cabochon case selected.
24V E14 Fairground Lighting
Our E14 LED bulbs operate from a 24V power supply. When planning an installation, the power supply needs to be sized according to the wattage of each LED bulb and the total number of cabochon lights being powered.
For example, an installation containing a large number of light points will require a higher capacity power supply than a small illuminated letter or sign.

E14 vs E10 Cabochon Lights
The main difference between E14 and E10 Cabochons is their physical size and lamp fitting. E14 Cabochons use the larger E14 lamp fitting and have a case approximately 60mm in diameter, while E10 Cabochons provide a smaller alternative.
The larger E14 format is well suited to large fairground displays, signs and light-up letters where the individual light points need to remain visually prominent. E10 Cabochons can be better suited to smaller signs, detailed designs or installations where the lights need to be positioned closer together.
When replacing components in an existing installation, it is important to identify whether E10 or E14 components are already installed, as the two sizes use different fittings.
